Building a remixable wardrobe

As you all know I am a poor college student but I LOVE and try to be as fashionable as I can. I have been looking at a few blogs and one of my favorits is Merrick's Art. You should all check her out! She has cheap easy ways to stay in style that will work great for people like me :) She refashions old clothes and makes some clothes and she always has on the cutest outfits. Once I get my power cord for my sewing machine hopefully I can do a few of these projects.

She guest posted on a blog and you should all read/look over it here. She chooses 8 articles of clothing and comes up with 14 different outfits! its amazing and I definitely need to try this! Once I do, I will post my results as well... hopefully :) But you guys have to remind me and encourage me haha or else I will forget!

Is it Spring yet?!

It looks like SPRING outside!!!! yay!! double yay because next week is spring break!!! I think we are mostly just going to be chillin but we will have fun doing our own thing...SO EXCITED!

I don't know about you but I have certain pictures that remind me of SPRING, this just happens to be one :) Last year I went to the  Color Festival with some friends and I am currently trying to talk my husband into going with me this year. Hopefully we do!!

Spring makes me want to get new clothes. If I ever get the chance here is my inspiration:

I LOVE cropped pants! want them in light yellow too

besides the pants I love the shoes! kinda addicted to shoes

This shirt is adorable

I also want to make this shirt.  This is how you do it. It seems pretty easy...if only I had someone to sew with!! :) I also want to make a pencil skirt with some fabric I already have, maybe over spring break?! One more thing I want to make is this scarf. Here is how she did it. Pretty easy?! I hope so because I am new to this whole sewing thing. I probably need lessons first but oh well!

Shout out to Laurel, Alissa and Kelly! We need to make some of these headbands for your daughters and us :) they are SO adorable!

ps I put a few songs that remind me of spring :) so you can keep listening if you so choose :)
