Our fourth

I don't know about all of you but we had a WONDERFUL fourth. It was nice to have a random day off in the middle of the week, it made our week go by fast! We went down to Centerville on Tuesday night, went to dinner with Dallin's mom, and went to our friends house to watch fireworks and play cards. I realized that night that we kind of are an old married couple...it felt like 2 am when it wasn't even midnight!!
The next day we went swimming with this cute little family :)

We had a picnic and played on the swings :)

 Then we went back to Alissa's house where the girls got to do girl things, like paint our nails and do our hair (well unless you were me I didn't and you can tell...oops!) and the boys watched sports!

We decided to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks but outside the stadium. I would say the girls had fun jumping on Papa and they actually liked the fireworks! :)

And just to add on to all the fun, we got to see Nate and Kelly that Saturday! We spent the day playing volleyball in the sun and hanging with the kids in Bear Lake ( i love that place). Thanks you guys for inviting us to play!! We will miss you!!

A Few Things I Love

So this year my Mom and I did the 14 Days of Valentines and it was SO much fun! I would definitely suggest trying it one year. We didn't do the same things so it was fun to talk about it and come up with ideas together! Not gonna lie most of mine were cheesy put oh well! At first Dallin was like, uh its not Valentines Day yet...but after awhile he was kinda excited to get his Valentine every day.  I know my brothers and Dad all really enjoyed it too :)

I just finished a book and I think if you have the chance you should read it. It's called Wake Up To A Happier Life by Amanda Dickson, seriously a great book!

I am SO excited for this weekend!! We have a family reunion to go to and I LOVE family reunions! yay! We also get to see Dallin's family :) I just have to get through this week...Wish me luck!!

My Nerdiness...

So my husband (yes that is a little weird to say still) teases me that I am a nerd. I realized today that in some ways I really am but I am not ashamed of my nerdiness! Actually I kind of miss my "nerdy" friends aka my awesome engineering and math friends. 

Yesterday during my hour break before institute I was struggling with my last problem in math that was due in the afternoon. After thinking about it ALL day and basically dreaming about it all night the night before, I took another look at it and what would you know? I figured it out! Seriously it's one of my favorite feelings in the world, figuring out a math problem. After math class I went to talk to my Math professor to ask a few questions about the upcoming assignment. Somehow, we got on the subject of what he does for research. It never seizes to amaze me what you can do with a little bit of math, or statistics. To spare you all the  details(probably boring), I will just tell you in short what I thought was very cool that he did slash does. He helped set up The National Library of Virtual Manipulatives (NLVM) for Interactive Mathematics, which has been translated into 5 different languages and gets almost 7 million hits a day!! Amazing right?!  well I thought so :) Talking to my professor about all of this made me miss engineering. Not that I am going to change back to that, I don't miss it that much! I just miss the feeling of working so hard to code a program or put together a circuit board and watching it work right before my eyes. That right there is one of the very best feelings in the world. And that is why I miss engineering. 

I know I am a nerd... I LOVE math and I like engineering and I will even go as far as I sometimes like Computer Science. This is my nerdiness coming out! 

A Very Random Movie Post

Ok I know I usually don't post this much so don't get too use to it :)

I just saw the trailer to a movie that will be coming out called The Vow. I HAVE to see it when it comes out!

It All Started 1059 Days Ago

1060 days ago I moved into my first college dorm.
My roommate already had her stuff in our room but she wasn't there. I was SO nervous. I had never lived with girls before and I didn't even really get along with girls. I remember looking at her closet where her Twilight calendar was hanging and thinking to myself, oh no I hope this works out. Earlier in the summer we emailed each other a little and I found out we were complete opposites. I liked kids, she didn't, I didn't like animals, she loved animals, I didn't read, she had tons of books, I love sports and she didn't really play a ton of sports. But I guess you can say opposites attract!

1059 days ago Sage walked into our room and we didn't say a word to each other. I didn't know what to say and I could tell she was a little sad from leaving her family. After the first day we became best friends. The first week of school was orientation so we went to all the activities together. That first week all the sorority girls try to get girls to join their sorority, so they walk around asking if you want to tour the houses and blah blah blah. Well they wouldn't stop asking so we finally went. We made up fake names and acted like complete fools haha and the girls at the different sorority houses would always ask how long we have known each other. When we said we met this week they were completely shocked. My freshman year would not have been the same without her. We ate together, studied together, went to games together, watched marathons of Americas Next Top Model together, and we even took naps together. After that first year we decided we HAD to live together.

Sage is one of my best friends. She has always been there for me. There was a joke our freshman year where people said "when you date one, you date the whole apartment" I am not gonna lie, that was kind of true haha Sage was always good at giving me boy advice and there are a few times that I didn't listen and later regretted it...squinty beady eyes!! haha She held me through my tears, danced with me when we were excited, watched me make a fool of myself and never let me forget it, and screamed out the window with me when we were angry. When you get us together sometimes we can be a hand full but I swear its totally worth it :)

We have some really fun photos of times that we were suppose to be studying and got sick of it. We dressed like nerds( shown on the right), we taped our nose to our forehead, and even gave ourselves mustaches. We quickly learned that we can't go to bed at the same time or else we will end up going to sleep way later than planned. She always blames me and says that I start the talking but I promise you that she starts it sometimes too. We found out that we like to talk to each other so much that we even sleep talk to each other. There have been a several occasions that one of us has woken up talking to the other.
We have 301 pictures together on facebook. Those don't include the ones we think we look gross in, the ones that may be a bit embarrassing, or even the ones we thought to be a little weird haha We found ourselves so entertaining that we even filmed ourselves a few times. You can't really find those anywhere unless you ask me about it haha they are too crazy/weird/random/ridiculous to put up on the internet.

Next year we may not live together but I am sure we will continue to make wonderful memories together. I will miss our pillow talking, eating together and listening to music while we get ready in the morning but we will live right down the street and already have plans to hang out hopefully once a week. If you ever want to have fun or have movie quoting contest call Sage.
Sage: Thank you for all the fun times we have shared together. We have made so many memories and I know I will never forget them. You have been my best friend and I am so glad we became roommates. I don't think it was be chance, I know Heavenly Father put you in my life for a reason. I hope that we will always stay close, even when we are old and grey. I know that you are going to do many great things in your life and know that I will always be there for you.
Tomorrow July 22 is Sage's birthday. This is for you HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAGE!! Love you to death girl!!

Summer is here

So I am officially done with spring semester!! I am done packing, unpacking, repacking and just about done unpacking AGAIN haha And I'll tell you what, this is the way I have been feeling...



I am so excited for this summer. It is going to be completely different and a wonderful new experience I am sure of it! If you didn't know I moved in with my aunt and uncle and I can already tell its going to be a great new adventure. Of course I will miss Boise and my family but I will for sure visit :) I had a great time visiting  but it was not long enough especially when I did so much packing and unpacking haha.

I know this is random but I think this is the cutest youtube video. He is so happy about his first kiss and I find it completely adorable the way he acts :)


Hope finals went well for everyone and I am sure you are all ready for summer!! I know I am!

"Perfection"

Have you ever felt the need to be Perfect? Or you feel like the people around you are Perfect? Do you ever feel like the media has no idea what they are doing to kids these days? Do they realize that the way they portray people is WRONG? That nobody is really that skinny, and nobody has perfect hair all the time.They are wrong. Everyone struggles. We all struggle in different ways and that's why we have family and friends to help us through the tough times. I read this blog and it really made me stop and think. I am not gonna lie I did cry but if you read it, I think it will hit you too. Please take some time to read this, realize that people around you are struggling. Realize you need to be REAL.

BE YOURSELF, not what you think people want to see.

This is me trying to spread REAL. I am not going to tell you my deepest darkest secrets, or the things I am struggling with, but know that I do struggle, everyone does. It's normal, nobody is perfect. Please get REAL and help somebody out. You may not realize it but the people around you are struggling, be a good friend and make sure they know they can talk to you whenever they need to. It may seem like everything is ok on the outside, but wake up, its called a mask, a fake facade. I know sometimes its easier to put on a smile and pretend everything is alright and I realize that sometimes when you are struggling that's all you can do. I just want everyone to know that its ok not to be perfect. The definition of perfect is entirely without any flaws, defects, or shortcomings. Do you realize that's basically impossible? I do believe that one day we will all be perfect and we will become that way through Jesus Christ. He will help us overcome our shortcomings, and our flaws. But until then, try to be the best person you can be, and while you are doing that realize its ok if sometimes you fall short. You don't need to feel ashamed or like everyone is better than you. 

I just want to end by saying this, Heavenly Father loves you. He knows who YOU are and he knows YOUR struggles and YOUR pain. Don't turn away, He will help you. And please please please realize that you don't need to be "Perfect" just be the best you. I hope this didn't make you sad, I just wanted to make you think. Make you realize you aren't alone.

The Weekend As WE know it!

So this past weekend my best friend slash soul sister, Rachel, came up to visit me! It was a blast, even though I was sick haha Friday we mostly just hung around the house and watched movies since I was still getting over my sickness. We watched The Last Song while finishing homework, then went and rented You Again and Life As We Know it. We ate Rumbi and watched movies then did our nails :) 

Saturday we went shopping and came home and watched a movie as a little break then went to the Utah State Basketball game. It was so fun!! We sat by some of my friends and had the time of our lives cheering!  I absolutely LOVE basketball games! Rachel got hit on by some man ha he passed her a scroll...yes a scroll! never would have seen that one coming right?! well the scroll part not the part where Rachel got hit on, I bet that happens all the time :) After singing the fight song and the Scotsman a few THOUSAND more times we decided to go. We went back to my place and ate then decided to go hot tubing. One problem...no hot tub at my place which means getting people to let us into theirs :) Well we parked and went around back to the hot tub and there were too many people and we didn't want to be there with that many so we get in my car and go to pull out and what happens?! oh yeah we are stuck!! One its freezing outside, two there is tons of snow on the ground and three I was not dressed for the occasion... sweatpants, flats, a sweater with only a swim suit underneath, trying to push out a car by myself! Luckily some nice guy heard us struggling and came out to help :) We then decided to go to McDonald's because I was finally hungry! So we ate and talked and eventually fell asleep in a very uncomfortable manner on my teeny tiny bed.

Sunday was great! We went to church, did some homework(I know, I know no homework on Sunday, I just got too distracted this weekend!) then made brownies for a brownie bake off. We went to Ward Prayer and ate too many brownies then went and played games. And of course Rachel got some more lovin haha the boys were serenading her and making up songs about her it was HILARIOUS! I wish I would have recorded it haha after our wonderful music filled evening we went back home and looked at wedding things with Brooklin and Shaunzi. We got super tired and decided it was time for bed.

Monday we went to one of my classes then it was time to head out and take her back to Brigham to meet her ride. I am happy to say I had a FANTASTIC weekend with my sis, filled with laughing, pictures, too much food, too many movies, late nights, and lots of music. Thanks for a great weekend sis!! Love you to death! <3
